Here are some pictures from our explorations with ice. The kids were scattered around the front of the building to see what they could find out about melting. Among other things, we observed that some surfaces are hotter than others (especially metal), some colors of paint seem to be warmer than others, and ice melts faster when surrounded by water rather than surrounded by air.
